For the past ten years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside and investing in the lives of artists with The Grove Center for the Arts & Media. Like what you read here on Art, Life & Faith, the mission of The Grove is to cultivate the spiritual life and creative work of artists. Many of you also receive regular updates from The Grove, so I hope you’ve been encouraged.
Today, if the Art, Life & Faith blog has helped cultivate your spiritual life and creative work in a positive way, I’d like to ask you to consider investing in the lives of artists by making a year-end donation to The Grove. Your donation will fund the grants and scholarships The Grove provides for artists. In the following year-end letter, I ask the question, “Are You A Generous Artist?” because I believe generosity reflects the heart of God. Walter Mitty also has something important to teach us about generosity. Read on or click here to donate now…
Are You A Generous Artist?
In the bold words of Walter Mitty, allow me to ask you a simple ABC question…
When it comes to giving, are you “Audacious, Brave & Creative”?
In other words, are you a generous artist?
Do you sow into the lives of others with the audacity, bravery and creativity that comes from knowing everything you have comes from God? Do you give to the people and places where your heart is cultivated in Christ?
Did You Know?
For the past ten years, The Grove has sown into the lives of individual artists and arts organizations to the tune of over $80,000 in artistic grants and scholarships.
Why do we do this? Because artists influence everything.
Without generosity, there’s no way we could fulfill our mission of “cultivating the spiritual lives and creative works of artists.” We do this because we love artists and we want to call all of our friends to be audacious, brave and creative in their giving.
Why? Giving reflects the heart of God and God knows giving is good for our heart.
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Cor. 9:6-8
Sow sparingly and you’ll constantly be scratching your head. Sow generously and you’re gonna need a bigger truck to haul in that huge harvest of abundant blessings.
If The Grove has helped cultivate your heart and life this year, will you scatter seeds of generosity with a year-end gift to The Grove? Small or large, you gift will help us minister to more artists in 2014.
Be Audacious. Brave. Creative.
I’m looking forward to that kind of New Year. I hope you are too.
Thank you for investing into the lives of artists. I really appreciate your generosity.
